Tradition is important. Tradition is something we all have in common. It's an integral part of what's made the Smithton Town and Country fair going for fifty years now. And they've been having fun, but they're also doing a lot of good.  The fair has given Smithton Schools scholarships of about $40,000 - and they've built important buildings while hosting safe senior parties for years.

There's going to be a lot of activities this year, so you're gonna wanna check it out. The action starts on Thursday July 13.  They'll have an art show, home economics and creative crafts, a flower show, parade, Miss Pettis County Coronation, sheep herding, children's games, and an auctioneer's bid contest.

On Friday there will be a swine show, the children's Pedal Pull, and the proper Tractor pull. On Saturday there will be a beef, sheep and goat show, car truck and tractor show, mini excavating, pie baking contest, ice cream freezing contest, pie auction, children's games, super farmer contest, and pig dressing.

Also, you're not going to want to miss the BBQ Pitmasters Competition. They start early, but you can probably get some samples around 3:00 p.m. Saturday. So really, you should go by the Park early, walk around and say hello to all the guys - they're the sweetest, by the way. Then go to the different exhibits and activities, then go back for some samples before you hit up the children's games and the super farmer contest. It's going to be a lot of fun! If you need more information, or if you have questions, you can check out more at their Facebook page.

Fairly yours,
Behka
