A Smithton woman suffered injuries early Saturday morning in a vehicle accident on McVey Road, in Pettis County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the accident around 2:30 Saturday morning.

The accident occurred on McVey Road, just east of Goodwill Chapel Road. A 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveled off the right side of the road, then went through a ditch and became airborne. The Jeep then traveled across a creek and struck the opposite embankment.

The driver, 32-year-old Kari M. Robinson, of Smithton, suffered moderate injuries in the accident. She was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center, by PCAD, for treatment.

Robinson was later arrested for driving while intoxicated

According to the report, the Jeep was totaled in the accident.

The Pettis County Sheriff's Department assisted the Highway Patrol.
