I have always been a huge fan of the Peanuts gang and their cartoons and TV specials.  It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and A Charlie Brown Christmas are 'must see' specials for me when they are on TV.  I still have some old Peanuts books with all of the cartoons in them.

Above was the final comic strip ever done by their creator Charles M Schultz.  His comic strip is still one of the most popular of all time.  I always loved Snoopy and Charlie Brown (might be the baldness) and the whole gang.  If you love the comic strip, or are a stamp collector, and still like to send stuff through the mail, this is wonderful news.

The U.S. Postal Service will celebrate the centennial of the birth of cartoonist Charles M. Schulz with 10 new fun-filled stamps. Schulz wrote, drew, inked and lettered nearly 18,000 "Peanuts" comic strips. The last one was published the day after he died in 2000.

This cartoon inspired a Broadway show, several TV specials and a full length movie.  So many products as well can be found with the likeness of these wonderful characters.  My home town Chicago newspapers, upon the day of Schultz's passing, had every comic in their paper, pay tribute to him, by drawing their strips in the likeness of his characters.  It was wonderful.

The stamps will include Charlie Brown, Lucy, Franklin, Sally, Pigpen, Linus, Snoopy (with Woodstock), Schroeder, Peppermint Patty, and Marcie.

The first-day-of-issue event for the Charles M. Schulz Forever stamps is free and open to the public.  These might be worth picking up.  By the way, fun fact.  Charles M Schultz NEVER drew an adult in any of his cartoons.  Why? He simply said, he couldn't draw them very well. So he never did.

You can get a little more info HERE.  Look for them soon.  And thank you Mr. Schultz.  My childhood and adulthood was just a little bit better thanks to your comic strip.  You gave millions of people a lot of joy, that is still recognized today.
