Pizza may be healthier for breakfast than cereal. At least that's what one nutritionist claims according to 12tomatoes.com. It's really not that pizza is all that healthy, it's really that most of us don't choose the right cereal.

We tend to like cereals like Frosted Flakes that are high in sugar. New York-based nutritionist Chelsey Amer told 12tomatoes.com that most breakfast cereals have too much sugar to be healthy for you. Additionally she told the 12tomatoes.com:

You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same amount of calories. However, pizza packs a much larger protein punch, which will keep you full and boost satiety throughout the morning.

But not so fast, if you choose the right cereal for breakfast than that cereal trumps pizza. Cynthia Sass MPH, RD, the contributing nutritional editor of Health told the website, "a cereal made with whole grains, nuts or seeds, and fruit with organic grass-fed milk or plant-based milk is a better choice over a grease-laden pizza made with processed meat like pepperoni on a white flour crust."

If you're consciously choosing your cereal, eating organic, and using fat free or plant based milk, you're probably better off with the cereal. Maybe it's just me, but I don't know many people who are that hard core about what they're eating. If you've got a jug of regular milk, and a box of Fruit Loops on the counter. Go ahead and get your pizza on. It might just be the healthier option, if you can limit yourself to one slice.
