On Tuesday, Jan. 18, at approximately 2:33 p.m., patrol officers and detectives with the Crime Resolution Unit responded to 1312 South Lamine Avenue to serve a search warrant related to an ongoing drug investigation.

As investigators spoke to a resident at the front door, other officers covering perimeter observed a male subject exit a second-story window and climb onto the roof. When officers attempted contact with the male subject, later identified as 24-year-old Cameron D. Williams, he ran across the roof and leaped to the ground.

Williams was immediately taken into custody and found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Williams was transported by Pettis County Ambulance District personnel to Bothwell Regional Health Center to be evaluated for injuries sustained from jumping off the roof.

Officers proceeded with clearing the residence where three additional adults were taken into custody without incident. Officers performed a detailed search of the home. On the roof where Williams had previously been observed, officers located two handguns, a large amount of methamphetamine and marijuana. One of the firearms was discovered to be stolen, originally reported out of the St. Louis area. Additional evidence indicated methamphetamine was being distributed from the home.

At the conclusion of the investigation Williams and a female subject, 38-year-old Tara M. Dillon, were arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Williams was placed on a 24-hour hold after receiving treatment at the hospital.

State charges being sought are as follows:

Cameron D. Williams:
1st Degree Drug Trafficking (Methamphetamine)
Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana)
Prohibited Person In Possession of a Firearm
Unlawful Use of a Weapon
Receiving Stolen Property
Tampering With Physical Evidence
Resisting Arrest
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Tara M. Dillon:

In addition to the arrest and state charges, the residence at 1312 S. Lamine Avenue was determined to be in violation of Sedalia City Ordinance 36-96, Prohibition Against Maintaining a Nuisance Property.

The residence was posted with notice of the violation, mandating the property owner resolve the violations within 60 days.
