Storm Sewer Work Resumes on South Park

Work planned for the week of May 2 along South Park Avenue was delayed due to rainy weather.

The City of Sedalia plans to close sections of S. Park Ave. to the north of Broadway Blvd. (U.S. Highway 50) and south of W. 6th St. to through traffic periodically during the coming week, May 9 through May 13.

Broadway to 7th will be closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and 6th to 7th will be closed Thursday and Friday, it was noted.

These road closures will be from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. each of the scheduled days.

Residents along South Park Avenue will be able to access their driveways during this time.

The City’s contractor will be installing storm sewer improvements in the area to reduce overtopping of street gutters and curb inlets.

Heavy equipment and personnel will be in the area and it was determined the safest alternative is to close the street during this period to through traffic to allow for the work to be completed safely and timely.

Travelers in the area are advised to find an alternate route to their destination.
