Stranger Things 3 hasn’t even begun filming, and already we’re getting an early preview. Showrunners confirm new details of the third season, including a Future-istic 1985 setting, young love going strong and more of everyone’s favorite father figure: Steve.

As an avowed walker and train-taker, I’m not much of a car guy, personally. But I know a thing or two — I can change a flat tire, correctly identify where jumper cables should be clamped, and I know enough that anyone who offers to sell you a ‘flux capacitor’ is having a laugh at your expense. The auto part was imagineered (a make-believe word for ‘invented’ that the folks at Disney originally imagineered) for Back to the Future, the all-important component that gives Marty McFly‘s Delorean the power to traverse time. And now, you too can attempt to flaunt the laws of metaphysics by souping out your ride of choice (imagine how a silent, time-traveling Prius would freak out people in the ’50s) with your very own flux capacitor.

Whatever holiday you celebrate in December, it comes with a lot of pressure. If you get that special someone the wrong gift, watch out. Things can get pretty ugly. That’s particularly true for pop-culture fans. They know what they want, and they probably have most of it already. Perhaps you know someone like this. Perhaps you are someone like this. Back to the Future Part II imagined a future of magical technology. Home energy reactors. Flying cars. Pizza rehydrators. Fax machines in people’s bathrooms. None of these things have come true. But all anyone really seems to care about are Marty McFly’s goddamn self-lacing sneakers.

If your Luke Cage binge has ended, there’s only one thing left to do. Okay, eleven things, if you feel compelled to watch ten more times, but we’re talking about the easter egg hunt. There’s plenty overt ones a bit of Iron Fist foreshadowing, but did you know a newspaper clipping puts Back to the Future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Later this month, on October 21, 2015 to be exact, marks the day that Marty McFly and Doc Brown travel to in the future in Back to the Future II. 2015 also marks the 30th anniversary of the original Back to the Future film opening in theaters. As you might expect, Back to the Future fever has hit a fever pitch and there will be lots of ways fans can commemorate the occasion, including buying yourself a “Pepsi Perfect” in a limited edition futuristic bottle, just like the one Marty buys in the future.

In addition to returning to theaters and releasing a premium Blu-ray box set this fall, Back to the Future will also celebrate its 30th anniversary with a pretty big celebration. Today comes news of some exciting plans to help fans further celebrate the release of one of the best films of all time — there’s just one catch: it’s all taking place in Los Angeles.

Everyone knows that 2015 is the year that Marty McFly and Doc Brown journey to in Back to the Future Part II. While we may not have hoverboards or Jaws 19, we are getting a new 30th anniversary Blu-ray and DVD release of the Back to the Future trilogy, which isn’t a bad consolation prize. In fact, the slightly more obsessive fans have even more reason to celebrate, as the Back to the Future animated series from the early ‘90s is coming to DVD for the first time.

With 2015 being the year Back to the Future II envisioned as the future, everyone is looking to celebrate what the future of 1989 was supposed to look like. Earlier this year, Nike announced they’d be releasing a version of Marty McFly’s self-lacing Air Mags. And now, Lexus may have one-upped them, releasing a teaser video revealing a sneak peek at an actual working hoverboard.

One of the most iconic parts of Back to the Future is the time traveling DeLorean. But, in earlier versions of the story, the DeLorean was nowhere to be found. Originally, Marty McFly was going to back to the 1950s in a refrigerator! And, instead of being powered by plutonium, it was powered by a nuclear explosion and Coca-Cola.
