The Warrensburg Community Center is re-opening with limited access and hours.

Warrensburg Parks & Recreation won't open the Nassif Aquatic Center this season and has cancelled several sports programs due to the coronavirus.

The Sedalia Park Board met in the Historic Convention Hall Thursday night with several items on its agenda. The board accepted a bid of $578,400 from Septagon Construction in Sedalia to be the Construction Manager for the proposed Community Center.

The Sedalia Park Board met in its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Thursday night (Sept. 5). One of the items brought to the floor and approved by the board gives Sedalia Parks and Recreations Director Mark Hewett the authority to seek bids for a construction manager and architect for Sedalia's new community center project.

Now that the Jenny Jaynes stadium property will be purchased by the Sedalia Parks and Rec Department, the space will become a community center in the near future. Warrensburg and Clinton already have community centers, but both of them are different. What would you like to see in your future community center?

The Sedalia City Council announced on Tuesday afternoon that they've approved the purchase of the Jennie Jaynes Stadium from the Sedalia 200 School District in a closed session meeting.  The purchase is a step towards tearing the stadium down and establishing a community center in Sedalia.
