I'm going to continue my series on the Roots and Blues Festival in Columbia.  The festival is almost here with the shows starting on Friday, September 21.   So, in my opinion I have saved the best for last.  I have had a a great summer of live music, been a lot of places and seen a lot of great acts, including blues, rock and country.  Having said all of that, what I haven't seen is anyone better

We're just a few short weeks away from the Roots N Blues Festival in Columbia.  Like I told you last week, I am going to write a few articles on some of the stars appearing there this year.  One of the artists that intrigues me the most is John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. They are appearing Saturday after Trampled Under Foot and before Al Green.

Over the next few weeks, I'm going to write some postss about just how big and important the Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival in Columbia is, and what role it has played in live music here in Sedalia.

One of my favorite blues festivals will be held this Saturday (June 30): the Bear Creek Blues Festival in Slater, Missouri. This year's show is even more special because it's an "all divas" show. Great music great times in Slater.  I had a chance to talk with the Director of the Festival Jill Murray here's that interview.  I'll see you there.

The fifth annual Sunset Strip Music Festival, scheduled for Aug. 16-18 in Los Angeles, will pay tribute to the legacy of the Doors with a three-day celebration featuring performances from an eclectic array of well-known artists.

One thing you always hear about in Cole Camp is about the German heritage they have.  My family is part German, and it seems like about a third of Cole Camp is related to us in one way or another, either by cousinry or by marriage.  So when I saw this event, I thought it was something that the people in Sedalia and the surrounding areas might want a little more information on.  It’s called Sangerf
