As if endless Netflix originals weren’t already frying our brains, we’re starting to see comedians in our favorite shows. Netflix took advantage of its comedy stable to put Dave Chappelle in Stranger Things, while Jerry Seinfeld advises Frank Underwood in a new crossover ad.

It’s a brave new world for the 2017 Emmy awards with Game of Thrones and others sitting this year out. The big announcement is finally here, as presented by Veep star Anna Chlumsky and Criminal Minds veteran Shemar Moore, so let’s find out what we’re all angry about/celebrating this year at the Emmys!

It’s a good week to be Robin Wright, both for Wonder Woman love and her House of Cards rise to power, but the increasingly-quaint Netflix drama doesn’t yet have the Season 6 renewal to explore Claire’s future. Should it return, bosses promise that Claire will be the one tearing down the fourth wall, which could drastically reinvent the show.

Once upon a time, Netflix ordered House of Cards for two seasons as a bold experiment in original programming. The streaming service has gotten far more ruthless with its vast lineup since, but does the political thriller have the juice for a sixth year, or beyond? Netflix has been notably quiet on House of Cards Season 5, especially with a May premiere looming (already moved back from Q1). Appetite for political drama is understandably fickle these days, but get a new look at Season 5 with fresh photos and intel on how the Underwood administration will interact with Trump’s.

House of Cards Season 4 left us on a pretty grim note, and our first new additions for Season 5 aren’t any less intimidating. Not only has the icy Patricia Clarkson joined in an important new role, but also a familiar Royal Pains star.

Any House of Cards fan knows that Robin Wright’s Claire Underwood is likely destined to move from First Lady to President herself. Now, Wright is already looking back at the tenure of First Ladies, teaming with Reese Witherspoon’s production company to direct and produce and adaptation of First Women: The Grace & Power Of America’s Modern First Ladies.

Only a few short years ago, Netflix had in mind to double its roster of original programming by 2016. That goal has more or less been achieved, with something new debuting practically every Friday, so what’s next? Why, launching even more originals, to the point they make up 50% of the streaming service’s offerings, per Netflix brass.
