With the London Olympics starting today (July 27), the British music body, PRS for Music, recently decided to conduct a poll to determine the most popular song when it came to sporting events, and a classic popular anthem has come out on top.

It’s summer, and Ringo Starr is back on the road with another lineup of his long-running All-Starr Band — all of whom recently sat down with Rock Cellar Magazine to share their favorite Beatles albums.

Novelty songs are a DJ's worst enemy.  The first billion times you play them they're cute, but man, they wear you out.  On Frida,y I played a novelty song on my "Lost 70's at 7" segment.  I played Meri Wilson's "Telephone Man" I like this song because it's a little off color and I haven't heard it for a long time.

This Friday night, Sedalia will get a rare opportunity to see one of the fastest rising stars on the blues scene. Samantha Fish will be at Dickie Doo BBQ starting at 8:30 p.m. Samantha just won the BMA for Newcomer of the Year, and if you have seen her live, you know what a great rockin’ show she puts on. She has also gained international success with her Girls With Guitars tour with Cassie Taylor (daughter of legendary Otis Taylor) and Dani Wilde.

I don't know if a lot of you use the social network Twitter, but a lot of people of varying ages do. What will happen on that site is people will say something brief, and give it something called a "hashtag", which means it goes into an automatic category for other people who write about that topic and easily see what others are saying.
