Temples Say Be ‘Strange or Be Forgotten’

British psych revivalists Temples recently announced their sophomore album, Volcano, due out March 3 via Fat Possum. Last fall, they shared "Certainty," the first taste of the Sun Structures follow-up, less a leadoff single than a spooky trip to Disneyland. Today, they've resurfaced with another cut from the impending LP, "Strange or Be Forgotten," a buoyant, synth-laden track that serves as the album's closing statement.

Temples bassist Tom Walmsley, who penned the ditty, described it to Noisey as "a tune hinged on a clattering, rangy beat and a descending synth line [which] soon swells to a sparkling, string-laden epic." Indeed, "Strange or Be Forgotten" scans as a reinterpretation of Tame Impala's 2015 psych-pop gospel Currents, by way of the 13th Floor Elevators: wild-eyed as ever, but far more affable.
