For a lot of us yesterday  morning, life was a little disrupted.Admittedly, the world didn't end. Although, at one point my boss and I were discussing how unprepared we were if the zombie apocalypse should come.

Anyway, I got to work yesterday at my normal time, about 4:30 a.m. I get up early.

So I walked in the door, locked it behind me, and.........bam.  Lights out.

Immediately I panic, because if we don't have power, that means three radio stations are off the air. That's not good. So I called the boss, and then I called KCP&L.  After about ten minutes, the nice lady told me that there was a HUGE outage on the west side of town - about 2300 customers were without power, and they didn't know why.

So then, it was a waiting game.

I mean, it's not like there was anything I could do. I just sat around for two hours, waiting for the lights to come back on. Then when they did, it was at least another half an hour to get the computers back up and running right. So, yeah. It was a thing.

But, I did get official word from KCP&L, and the rumors are true: A Raccoon Was To Blame. A RACCOON!

I knew I didn't like those little dudes.

LOOK AT THOSE EYES. Evil. Power stealing evil.

Still, thanks to everybody out there who helped, like the Sedalia Police who directed traffic, and the drivers who didn't go nuts, and our listeners for their patience.

Raccoonly yours,
Behka
