It's about time science and math got useful around here!

We might not have gotten enough to make a truly excellent snowman, but there are some things you can do to make him stand out. I'm not sure anyone is going to take the time to whip out rulers and protractors when they're building a snowman.  But maybe you should, if you don't want it to be all deformed.

A mathematician in England came up with the formula for building the perfect snowman.  Fortunately you don't have to do any of the math yourself.  Check 'em out.

1.  It should be 64 inches tall, or a little over five feet, NOT including the hat, if you add one.  The bottom ball should be 31 inches high and the middle ball should be 20 inches. The head should be 13 inches.

2.  You want to use fresh snow that fell when it was 32 degrees or colder outside. So basically do it in the morning, 'cos we're supposed to have a high of 37 degrees.

3.  The eyes should be no more than two inches apart. I guess you could put your thumb there and kind of.............................eyeball it.  I'll see myself out.

4.  The carrot nose should be exactly 1.5 inches.  Maybe  a really big baby carrot?

5.  You can use sticks for arms, plus any hat and scarf.  Just make sure the three buttons on the chest are an equal distance apart.

There you have it.  Now that we've got a little snow on the ground, get to it!  I expect to see perfect snowmen all over Sedalia STAT.

Snowingly yours,
Behka
