The new Kingsman film is about old Kingsman — and the origins of the spy organization featured in the first two films from director Matthew Vaughn based on the comics series by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. The King’s Man is set decades ago, and follows a new character played by Ralph Fiennes — who spy movie fans know as the current incarnation of James Bond’s boss, M. It’s all kinds of meta up in here. Watch the first trailer above.

The cast also includes Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Djimon Hounsou, and Charles Dance. Here’s the film’s official synopsis:

As a collection of history's worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in The King's Man.

I’m not sure I necessarily needed to know how the Kingsman became King’s men, but at least Matthew Vaughn is still on hand; there’s some very cool shots in this trailer. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a fight from the point of view of a sword before. The King’s Man opens in theaters on February 14, 2020.
