Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Alleged Sex Offender

On Thursday around 12:30 p.m., Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired registration near Broadway and Sneed.

A computer check of the driver (and vehicle owner) revealed that 68-year-old Fredrick Ray Ledbetter of Sedalia was a sex offender who was not in compliance.

Ledbetter was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released for felony failure to register as sex offender.
