Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop in 2000 block of South Limit Avenue Sunday night on a vehicle for failing to signal a lane change.

A passenger in the vehicle was found to have three warrants out of Pettis County.

The warrants were for charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and two Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of 2nd Degree Property Damage, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

A request was made to the arrestee to provide a DNA sample. The arrestee refused to do so.

A search warrant was obtained, compelling under Judge's order the arrestee provide a DNA sample. The arrestee still refused to do so.

Samuel Isiah Gravitt III, 29, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest pending charges of Obstructing Government Operations, Interference With Legal Process, and felony Tampering with Physical Evidence, along with the warrants.

Gravitt was placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail pending bond of $10,500 cash or surety on the warrants.
