During the month of March, Deputy Apel initiated a drug investigation aimed at methamphetamine trafficking within the borders of Pettis County.

Intelligence gathered resulted in a search warrant issued.

On Monday, April 26, at approximately 11 p.m., the search warrant was a served in Maplewood Subdivision at 2904 Oak Ridge Circle. During service, approximately two ounces of methamphetamine were seized along with firearms and approximately $20,000 in US currency.

A juvenile was also located and turned over to a family member.

This led to the execution of another search warrant on April 27 at a storage shed in Sedalia, and a residence on Marigold Lane just south of Sedalia. An additional two pounds of methamphetamine were seized at the residence on Marigold Lane and more currency at the storage shed.

In custody are David and Audrey Bridges, both 47, of the Oak Ridge Circle address. Charges against the two have been filed for 2nd degree trafficking/prior or persistent offender. With the additional meth, this will be bumped up to 1st degree trafficking and possession of a firearm by persons prohibited.

Bond for both was set at $75,000 cash or surety.

"This was excellent work by Deputy Apel, the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force, and the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office. It is a good day when these dangerous drugs are removed from our streets," commented Sheriff Brad Anders in a Facebook post on Tuesday afternoon.

Anyone with information on illegal activities, is urged to call the Pettis County Sheriff's Office at 287-0052  or the TIPS hotline at 827-8477.
