Two people were arrested on drug charges in Moniteau County after one of the suspects fled on foot.

On May 26, Moniteau County deputies were dispatched for a report of trespassing on Rock House Road.

Upon arrival, deputies observed a man and woman outside a vehicle near a creek. The man reportedly saw the deputies and fled on foot into the woods towards Cole County.

Authorities dispatched a K-9 unit to try and locate the male suspect, identified as 28-year old Justen M. Bigler, of California, MO.

Meanwhile, a search of the vehicle located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

A short time later, Bigler was located on a gravel road in Cole County. Deputies also learned that Bigler had outstanding felony warrants. According to a press release from the Moniteau County Sheriff's Dept., Bigler and the female suspect, 34-year old Amanda R. Porter, of Barnett, MO, were arrested and taken to the Moniteau County Jail.

Bigler was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance (meth), Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with a Motor Vehicle, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He had a total bond of $51,000.00.

Porter was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She had a total bond of $1,000.00.
