Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred last Friday morning at 20th and Warren in Sedalia.
According to Sedalia Police, the accident happened at 8:06 a.m. Oct. 9 when a southbound 2005 Ford Taurus, driven by 16-year-old Thea LaRue Wyatt of Sedalia, failed to stop at a stop sign on Warren, and collided with a westbound 204 Honda, driven by 17-year-old Tyler Nathaniel Tindell of Sedalia.

Both vehicles then left the roadway and came to rest in a yard at 1603 W. 20th.

The Taurus came to rest on top of a large shrub next to the house, while the Honda came to rest next to a large tree.

Wyatt complained of head and chest pains, and had cuts to her left hand. The report noted she was shaken up & didn't remember what happened. The Taurus had extensive damage to the entire driver's door and windshield. Wyatt was transported by PCAD to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.

A passenger in the Taurus, identified as 16-year-old Sydnie M. Schreiner, also of Sedalia, stated that the driver did not stop for the stop sign at 20th and Warren, which is a two-way stop. She said the Taurus entered the intersection and collided with the Honda. Schreiner complained of chest and head pain. She was transported from the scene by family members.

Tindell told police he was westbound on 20th when the Taurus entered the intersection and collided with him. The Taurus then left the roadway and came to a stop in a private yard at 1603 W. 20th. His vehicle ended up in the yard, also. The Honda had extensive damage to the front end. Tindell complained of left wrist and chest pain and was transported from the scene by family members.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Don's Towing.

Sedalia Fire also responded to the scene.
