Two Warsaw residents were injured in a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Benton County on Thursday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 1999 Jeep, driven by 59-year-old Patricia I. Maples of Warsaw, was northbound on Highway 65 in the right lane at Marina Road, when at 12:29 pm., she attempted to make a left turn from the right lane and pulled into the path of a northbound 2011 Freightliner driven by 40-year-old Stanislav Byndyu of Troutdale, Ore. The Jeep skidded and struck the Freightliner.

Maples suffered serious injuries and was flown by Life Flight Eagle to University Hospital in Columbia. Her passenger, 79-year-old Judith M. Williamson of Warsaw, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance.

All parties were wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

The Jeep had extensive damage, while the Freightliner had minor damage.

Benton County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
