Volunteers are needed to help clean up the Katy Trail by picking--up trash left by receding floodwaters.

Missouri State Parks says anyone who is interested in helping with the clean-up effort is encouraged to grab their bicycles, boots, gloves, long sleeves and bug spray to join staff on Saturday, August 3, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m.

The park will provide trash bags for any person or group. When a bag is full, or an object is too big to put in a bag, volunteers can leave it on the shoulder of the trail, and park staff will come around to pick up the full bags.

Volunteers should meet at the Katy Trail - North Jefferson trail head. Staff will be on hand to give directions and supply trash bags.

Participants are encouraged to RSVP by calling 573-449-7400.
