Well, it's not eaxctly like breaking out of prison...but it's close. The 8th Annual Prison Break Race is taking place on Saturday, August 31 at the Missouri State Penitentiary in Jefferson City, MO.

How would you like to know the feeling of bustin' out of the big house, or stand where convicts sat for years at a time without daylight, running water or contact with the outside world? If you've ever gone that far in your thought process, you'll enjoy this event that's sponsored by the Jefferson City Athletic Events Committee.

According to their information on the race:

Racers will emerge from the prison's old baseball field and set out on a 4+ mile course that will test every facet of their athleticism. Breaking out of prison isn't easy, and this course won't be either. Expect the unexpected - hilly terrain combined with a slew of obstacles will be featured at every turn before the conclusion.

There's also a junior version of the Prison Break Race for boys and girls ages 8-17. Runners will face over 15 obstacles along the 2.5 mile course.
