The Warrensburg High School Athletic Department is looking for cross country team alumni and former coaches to help celebrate the program being enshrined in the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.

On Sunday January 31 the Warrensburg High School Cross Country program and Coach Ron Clawson will be inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in Springfield. The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame would like to send every runner and coach that has been apart of the School's program an invitation to the event.

So the athletic department, via Facebook, is asking alums to reach out to former teammates, friends, and  coaches so they can receive an invitation to the event. Any runner or coach that attends the event will receive a plaque with their name engraved and will be recognized individually during the ceremony.

It's not a cheap event to attend though. Individual tickets are $150 dollars, and a table of ten is $1500.00. According to the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, if you purchase a table your ticket does include such perks as a poster autographed by the individual inductees and recognition in the printed program.

Aside from the Warrensburg Tiger Cross Country team and Coach Ron Clawson, inductees include late Chiefs linebacker Derrick Thomas, Kansas City Royal's General Manager Dayton Moore, Former President of the St. Louis Cardinals Mark Lamping, The Mizzou Football Chain Crew, and Mizzou Soccer Coach Bryan Blitz.

The enshrinement will take place at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds E-Plex East Wing. For more information on the event please call 417-889-3100. For those members of the Warrensburg Cross Country program thinking of attending the Warrensburg Athletic Department's contact at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame is Marty Willadsen and he can be reached at 417-830-3300.
