No, it has nothing to do with cucumbers, relish, or, well, anything involving a jar.

Haven't heard of pickleball?  Well, apparently it's a much bigger thing than I thought!  There's an association and everything!  They can probably explain it better than I can.  According to usapickleball.org, here's what the basics to the game.

A fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. Played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net. Played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes. Played as doubles or singles. Can be enjoyed by all ages and skill levels.

See, there might be hope for me, then. I'm useless when it comes to any kind of sports.  If there's a ball, I may or may not be able to actually make contact with said ball.  So if it's all skill levels,  that's including no skill! I found a link online that helps to explain and actually shows you how it works.  It's only about two minutes, so not super long.

So anyway, now that you know what Pickleball is, you wanna give it a go?  You can now with the Sedalia Parks and Recreation.

We're hosting our first pickleball tournament September 24-25th! Registration is going on now and is $40 per team! This tournament is a Men, Women, and CoEd doubles tournament! Register online at www.sedaliaparks.com or by calling 660-826-4930!

Now you can get your friends or family or both together and get out on the courts to have some fun. And I also like that this is happening in September, so it's not going to be too hot to be outside for a few hours.  Sounds like fun, right? Right!  And if you're sporty, great, but if not, try it and see if you like it.

Picklingly yours,
Behka
