What’s Closed On Thanksgiving 2023 in Sedalia (And What’s Open)

Well, it's officially November. So you know what that means, it's officially The Holidays.Actually, if you look at some stores....  it's already Christmas time, even though it's not even Thanksgiving yet.  I haven't even taken the witch and ghost decorations off my porch yet!  Anyway, it can't hurt to plan ahead, right?  Right.  So in case you get stuck in an emergency "We ran out of butter at 11 a.m. Thanksgiving morning" situation, or you want to make sure you're not missing any super early Black Friday sales that are really on Thursday..... here's some stuff to know.

CHAIN STORES IN SEDALIA CLOSED ON THANKSGIVING

Wal Mart  (Now keep in mind, they will have several early sales and a lot of online sales before Thanksgiving, even. So you might keep your eyes open if you're looking for a deal.)

Aldi (I've seen some places indicate they'll open an hour early on Black Friday, but they'll be closed Thursday)

Kohl's  

Lowe's.  Last year they were open at 6:00 a.m. nationally, so it seems likely that won't change.

JC Penney  
Game Stop 
Ace Hardware  (They will also have a ton of deals all month.)
TJ Maxx
Harbor Freight
Hobby Lobby
Menards
Staples
Pet Smart
Tractor Supply

Most of these places indicate they'll be open at 5:00 a.m. on Friday, but there are a few that haven't announced their hours yet.  Looking at what they did last year seems pretty similar to a 5:00 a.m. opening.

Oh, and just a heads up - liquor stores should be open on Thanksgiving. Not that you'll need that information.  And, of course, this doesn't even begin to cover all the places in town, chain or otherwise.
