With Our Country So Divided, Can Music Unite Us? Study Says Yes!

Our country is as divided as it has ever been in my lifetime.  We see it on the news all the time.  Depending on what side of the political aisle you are on, you probably watch the news station that fits the narrative you want to believe.  We all have our own views.  It isn't easy to listen to someone who has opposing views than yours.  I suspect we would like to think we can do this, but it is hard.

What if there was something that COULD bring us all together? Unite us in a common interest? A Cambridge study has found the answer, and I don't think you will be surprised.  It's MUSIC!  Good Music! You can read more about it HERE.

The study basically found that people with certain personality traits tends to enjoy the same types of music, no matter where we are living.  If you live in an area that is more blue collar, or white collar, or Republican or Democrat, it doesn't matter.  If you like the same kind of music, you can find common ground.  The tie that binds us together.

Now if you want an example, if you tend to be someone who follows rules, and tries not to be a rebel and thumb your nose at authority at everything, you probably won't be as into music that is anti-authority.   I am sure there are exceptions.

So is there something that can unite us all? Music seems to be that very thing.  Perhaps that is why you listen to our station.  You love country music, and the stories that the songs from your favorite artist tell us. We can still have our differences, but what can unite us all, is our love of music.
