Western Missouri Medical Center’s (WMMC) Foundation held its first-ever summer fundraising event, Cirque du Soiree, on July 22, 2021, to raise money towards the “Innovation That Heals” project.

Over $40,000 was raised, which surpassed the committee’s goal of $25,000 by over $15,000.

The one-of-a-kind event featured live entertainers, performance artists and decadent hors d’oeuvres. The event was meant as a celebration to honor the healthcare workers for all their work during the pandemic, and to thank the community for their support of the medical center.

“This event was about raising funds to advance healthcare in our greater community, and celebrating the year that our healthcare workers have endured during the pandemic,” said Kathleen Brandt, WMMC Foundation Board President.

“After the last year that our community has faced, it was important for us to honor healthcare workers and kick off the newly announced WMMC Foundation project. We were so excited to see our community come together to raise over $40,000!” says Brooke Cox, Chair of the Cirque du Soiree Planning Committee.

Additionally, a special thank you to all of the businesses and community members that sponsored or donated time, raffle items, and silent auction items to help make this event a huge success. This event wouldn’t have been possible without all the time and planning from foundation members on this committee and support from the community.
