On June 7, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was involved in a vehicle pursuit with a vehicle traveling 90 miles per hour on US 50 Highway.

Just east of Tipton, the vehicle traveled off the roadway into a field, where the driver, later identified as Sydney Ward, fled on foot, leaving a juvenile child in the vehicle.

Pettis County Deputy Moore and K9 Cav were called to assist with the tracking of Ward.

Cav was able to track the suspect to a small body of water, where she attempted to resist arrest once again.

Cav engaged the suspect, but Deputy Moore was able to restrain the K9, and Ward was taken into custody without injury.

Ward was wanted on several warrants, one of which was a felony with no bond.

Other charges were pending related to the pursuit and the juvenile child's presence during an unlawful act.

The PCSO thanked the MSHP, Tipton Police, Moniteau County Sheriff's Office, Sgt. Long, Deputy Moore and Cav for their assistance.
