If you've been vaccinated, or are going to be vaccinated. You can win $10,000 from The Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services and The Missouri Lottery.

On Thursday, July 21, Governor Mike Parson announced Missouri's statewide vaccination incentive program MO VIP. Over 900 Missourians who have been vaccinated will win $10,000 cash or $10,000 to put towards their education savings account from MDHSS and The Missouri Lottery. Winners 18 and over will receive cash, while those Missourians 12-17 will get money to put towards educational purposes.

The state says the MO VIP program incentivizes those who haven't gotten the COVID-19 vaccination to get one, while also providing a reward for the 2.8 million Missourians who have already gotten vaccinated.

Entrants will be put in one of three pools. Red- for those who will be vaccinated from today forward. White- for those who have received their first COVID-19 vaccination prior to today. And Blue- for those 12-17 who have received at least one dose of the vaccine at any time.

Five drawings will be held between August 13 and October 8 with a total of 180 winners chosen in each drawing. Missourians who have been vaccinated only need to register once and will be eligible for all upcoming drawings at the time of their registration. In other words, if you register by August 11, you'll be eligible to win in all five drawings the State is holding.

Governor Parson said in his press release, "This new program will complement our existing efforts to educate Missourians about the importance of getting the vaccine. Our current COVID-19 situation is serious. This Delta variant transmits faster than what we have previously seen and is more likely to impact children and the unvaccinated, so now is the perfect opportunity to get vaccinated and earn your shot at $10,000."

Missourians who wish to enter the contest are asked to do so at covidvaccine.mo.gov/win or by calling (877) 435-8411. Registration is required, as the State of Missouri will NOT be accessing citizens' vaccination or health records.

Missourians who have been vaccinated in another state, or through a federal or military program are eligible to participate in the contest as well.  Winners will be asked to provide proof of vaccination and residency before the prize will be awarded.
