California Man Arrested After Crashing Dodge Ram in Morgan County

A California man was injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred Monday night in Morgan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2008 Dodge Ram, driven by 29-year-old Matthew C. Gambling of California, Mo., was on Missouri 5, seven-tenths of a mile north of the north Route TT Junction (south of Versailles) around 7:45 p.m., when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and the driver overcorrected. The Dodge then returned to the roadway, ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a guardrail. The vehicle then continued and struck a tree before coming to rest.

Gambling suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach for treatment. He was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

Gambling was later arrested by the Patrol at 8:10 p.m., and charged driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving involving a motor vehicle crash, no insurance and no seat belt. Gambling was released for medical treatment.
