If you're looking for something to do this weekend and you enjoy shopping as well as exploring our area's history then there's an event right up your alley in Warsaw this weekend.

I'm talking about Heritage Days in Warsaw, which is scheduled for this Saturday, October 21, and Sunday, October 22, 2023.

As the Benton County Missouri Tourism and Recreation Facebook page explains, it's actually a two-part event. One part, featuring food and homemade crafts takes place at Drake Harbor in downtown Warsaw. The other part is the more historical portion of the event which is held at the Harry S. Truman Overlook, Kaysinger Bluff.

On Kaysinger Bluff there will be a celebration of old-time crafts and activities. The Heritage Days website bills it as, "The ultimate fall celebration with crafts and demonstrations from the 1800's." According to the Benton County Missouri Tourism and Recreation Facebook page, there will be musical demonstrations, a mill, food, and much more. The cost to attend this portion of the event is $10.00, with children 6-12 paying half price and children under 5 admitted free.

The portion of the event in downtown Warsaw at Drake Harbor includes 200 vendors of handmade crafts, as well as a direct sales section where vendors will be offering everything from Avon to Tupperware according to the Benton Country Missouri Tourism and Recreation Facebook page.

Food Vendors at Drake Harbor include The Gator Wagon, and Walking Tacos, as well as vendors selling egg rolls, sweets and treats, and bratwursts. This is in addition to most traditional fair foods like corn dogs and cotton candy.

The Drake Harbor part of Heritage Days runs Saturday from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, and Sunday from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM CDT. The portion at the Harry S. Truman Overlook is open both days from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM CDT.
