The Sacred Heart/Otterville girls erased a 12-point, fourth-quarter deficit to beat Northwest and win their 15th game in 20 chances, 51-5, at SFCC.

Jenna Halter led the team in scoring with 13 points, Kate Carney added 12 including the go-ahead free throw with five seconds left.

Katie McKinney and Aubrey Oehrke had 9, while Mariana Restrepo had 8.

Emily Hesse was outstanding on defense, while Bailee Vogel, Daniella Chinchilla, and Mary Butner did a stellar job in relief of players in foul trouble.

Coach Sawyer was incredible on the sideline. It was a total team effort.

SHO next plays Friday in the championship game of the Kaysinger Conference Tournament on Friday night.

Northwest is now 16--5.


 

The Gremlin boys played an all-around solid game Saturday morning In the first round of the Kaysinger Tournament at SFCC, beating Cole Camp, 45-44.

Carter Rice led the way with 14 points, Conner Rice chipped in 11 and Grant Goodwin and George Bain added 9 points each

Next action for the Grems (12-6) will be Tuesday night, Jan. 31 at SFCC at 6 p.m., vs the undefeated (1) seed (20-0) Lincoln Cardinals.

SH plays Weaubleau (13-5) at home on Monday, Feb. 6.
