A Sweet Springs man was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Monday morning in Saline County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 1996 Ford Ranger, driven by 67-year-old Tommy J. Mapes of Sweet Springs, was on US 65, one-third mile south of Mt. Olive Road (south of Marshall) around 6:15 a.m., when the truck began to slide on the ice-covered roadway. The driver lost control and the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

Mapes suffered moderate injuries and was transported to University of Missouri Hospital for treatment.

The Ford Ranger was totaled.
