Sedalia Police Reports for April 11, 2024

Wednesday night, Officers conducted a vehicle stop at the Jiffy Stop, 1722 West Broadway Boulevard. Officers made contact with the driver, and checked her information with Dispatch. The driver did not have a valid driving status. Adriana Barranco Cenobio, 37, of Sedalia, was arrested for a charge of Operator’s License Required. Cenobio was transported to the Pettis County Jail, to be fingerprinted and issued a citation with a court date.

Monday evening, Officers spoke with a subject in the lobby of the Police Department regarding a harassment situation. The subject stated her former boyfriend and father of her child had been repeatedly calling and texting her. The subject stated the communication was unwanted and threatening. The subject wanted a report generated for documentation.

Officers were dispatched to the area of the 400 block of East Boonville Street Wednesday morning in reference to report of property damage. Officers collected the information and submitted a report.

Wednesday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Probation and Parole Office, 205 Thompson Road, in reference to a warrant check. The subject was confirmed to have two active warrants for her arrest. One warrant was from Pettis County for a Parole Violation on an original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance from December of 2020. A Failure to Appear warrant was issued on this case in August of 2021, and eventually the suspect was sentenced to five years of probation in January of 2022. The probation was violated in January of 2023. The probation was revoked in June of that year, and the defendant was sentenced to five years of supervised probation and 120 days shock. The probation was violated again, however, in October of 2023. The other warrant was issued in early April of 2024, regarding an incident that occurred in October of 2023. At that time, Officers responded to the CVS store, 100 East Broadway Boulevard, to investigate a reported theft from the store. The suspect was described as a black female that left the scene in a black Dodge Charger. Officers were able to stop the vehicle, and interviewed the suspect. In the floorboard, where she was sitting, there was a pink handbag. That pink handbag contained a small straw and a plastic cigarette wrapper with a white powder residue. The powered was tested, and came back as Cocaine. A warrant was issued on charges of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and misdemeanor Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Carlese Lavonne Overton, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested for her two warrants. The most recent drug charge carried a bond of $7500 cash or surety, while the probation violation warrant specified a $25,000 cash or surety bond.

On the morning of April 1st, Officers were dispatched to a report of property damage and theft at the Miney Mo’s Laundromat in the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue. Jason Shoemaker stated a suspect came into the laundromat, and then waited for no one else to be in the building. He then drilled a hole in a quarter game machine and stole approximately $25 worth of quarters.

On the afternoon of April 5th, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired tags at the intersection of East Pettis Street and North Washington Avenue. Officers discovered the driver had a suspended license and placed him under arrest. Donavan Laray Murphy*, 39, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended and No Proof of Insurance. Murphy was transported to the Pettis County Jail without incident.

Wednesday afternoon, Officers were gathered to a reported assault that occurred at the intersection of Jefferson and Missouri Avenue. Officers gathered information for a report.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Probation and Parole Office, 205 Thompson Road, Wednesday morning in reference to a subject present with a warrant for their arrest. The subject had three different warrants from Pettis County. One warrant stemmed from charges filed in August 2021. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years of supervised probation in September of 2021, and violated the probation in March of 2022. It was violated again in October of 2023. A warrant was issued for her arrest in January of 2024, on original charges of felony Assault in the 3rd Degree (Special Victim). Bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety on that warrant. Another warrant for a charge of Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree (2nd Offense), from an incident in October of 2023. The warrant was issued in March of 2024, with a bond set at $10,000 cash or surety. The final warrant, a Failure to Appear was issued in March of 2024 regarding charges filed in December of 2023. Those charges were Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender) and Driving While Revoked. Bond on that warrant was set at $10,000 cash or surety. Felicia L. Byrd, 29, of Knob Noster, was arrested for her warrants. Total cash or surety bond amounted to $45,000.
