Sedalia Police Reports for March 19, 2024

Monday night, Officers took a report over the telephone from Randall F. Hale. Hale spoke with Officers regarding a case of fraud. Hale stated someone had made a fraudulent charge on his bank account at the Domino's restaurant, 3200 South Limit Avenue. The charge was made without his knowledge or permission. No suspects have been identified at this time.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 400 block of North Grand Avenue Monday afternoon in reference to a domestic disturbance. both parties had injuries after an argument had turned physical. A 12-hour log was used to document the incident.

Monday morning, Officers conducted a warrant check outside of the Pettis County Sheriff's Office, 319 South Lamine Avenue. A female subject was found to have a warrant for her arrest from Cooper County stemming from an incident in December, 2023. In that original incident, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was observing traffic on eastbound Interstate 70, near mile marker 92 in Cooper County. The Sergeant observed a black Chrysler 300 with a tail light improperly functioning, and clocked the vehicle speeding. The stop was conducted after observing and following the vehicle for about six miles. When the Trooper made contact with the driver, she gave a false identity, claiming her name was Jennifer L. Loveland, and that she was from Otterville. Through investigation, the Sergeant was able to determine the driver was not Loveland, but rather was the registered owner of the vehicle, Crystal Vasquez. Vasquez continued to claim her name was Loveland, and denied consent to search the vehicle. The Trooper stated he would be deploying the patrol canine Emilka to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle. Upon advising her of that, Vasquez admitted her real identity. Vasquez also admitted to possessing a small amount of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. After a search, Officers located a gram of methamphetamine in a small black container, a blue and pink smoking pipe, a pill bottle containing 30 Alprazolam pills (also known as Xanax), and a blue and pink container that contained another gram of methamphetamine. At the time, she was transported to the Cooper County Jail to be fingerprinted, photographed, and released to jail staff. A warrant on this incident was issued on March 8th, 2024. Ten days later, Crystal E. Vasquez, 42, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in on two counts of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety.
