Two adult males were charged today in connection with the deadly shooting following the Kansas City Chief's Super Bowl Rally at Union Station last Wednesday.

Dominic M. Miller of Kansas City and Lyndell Mays of Raytown were both charged with murder and other felony charges, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker in a press conference held Tuesday at 2 p.m., at the Jackson County Courthouse.

According to court records, the defendants attended the KC Super Bowl parade and rally on Feb. 14 (Valentine's Day) and were armed with firearms.

A verbal altercation occurred and escalated into gunfire that broke out into the crowd near the end of the rally. A total of 22 people were injured, half of them were juveniles.

Charging documents say that the two men did not know one another.

Peters Baker said prosecutors currently believe that Mays pulled his weapon first and that his weapon was the one that struck and killed Lisa Lopez-Galvan.

Both defendants are being held on a $1 million bond, according to court documents.
